For one South Carolina town, the general store is back in style.
Rebekah Robeson, manager of the Edgefield General Store says: “It’s always been some sort of dry goods store. The building itself was built in 1871. We offer a little bit of everything. We’re a gift shop. We have a soda fountain and ice cream counter. Whether you’re passing through town or you’re here for the day, we try to present the best of what Edgefield has to offer. Tying in with the history of Edgefield, we want to celebrate that history and add to it. Celebrate what was and then add something special to it for the future.”
Why the Edgefield General Store is one stop you’ll want to make on the next People & Places with Pierce. Wednesday at 10:00 p.m. on FOX 54 News Now.
