Craft beer brewing is catching on in the CSRA. Riverwatch Parkway is the first brewery since Prohibition in Augusta.
Anne Sloan of Riverwatch Brewery adds: “We don’t want to be this super uptight kind of place. We want to be a place where you can hang out for a couple of hours, play some board games, chat with your friends, chat with the bartenders, and just have some good beer. Beer is not fancy. It’s the every man’s drink pretty much, and we wanted to encapsulate that concept into our tasting room. I went to school for marine biology. I was going to save the world, save the environment and now at least I just make people happy with alcohol. I like to tell people I literally fell into beer because I wasn’t going to do the brewery.”
